We’re very proud of our people and their commitment to going that extra mile has helped us raise over £35 million for good causes. It’s due to their dedication and talent that we’re able to deliver almost 80 million items to 27 million addresses every day; a truly staggering feat.
If, as the saying goes, an organisation is only as strong as its individual members, we’re pretty powerful already. But we’re always on the look out for new talent. And our Human Resources team have a key role to play in ensuring we recruit the best candidates and enable our 180,000 employees to develop their talents and leadership skills to the fullest.
What can we offer you?
To help you build both general and specialist HR skills, you’ll carry out a variety of placements over the 12-18 months of the programme. These will be in a number of HR areas, giving you the chance to decide where you want to grow your career. Along the way we’ll help you identify which roles are most suited to your experience and interests. You will be asked to work in a number of different locations throughout the programme, so it’s important that you’re flexible in terms of relocation.
When on the programme, you’ll work across at least two of the following areas within the Royal Mail Group:
HR Services (Chesterfield, Sheffield and Rugby)
Here you’ll gain hands-on experience in one of the Central HR Services teams below:
- Recruitment
- Learning
- Talent and leadership
- Reward and recognition
- Corporate social responsibility
- Advice and support
This will give you the opportunity to develop your skills in areas such as data analysis, project management, stakeholder management, management information, business planning and process improvement.
HR Structure
Each of our regions is led by a Human Resources Director with four direct reports heading up our four key HR portfolios. These include Talent and Learning, Employee and Industrial Relations, Communications and Resourcing.
Expert Teams (London)
These teams develop strategic HR solutions in specialist areas such as Diversity, Talent Management and Learning. This placement will give you an in-depth understanding of these areas, as well as high level exposure to business HR strategy as a whole.
